    NORWALK, CT — The National Merit Scholarship Corporation announced Wednesday that more than 2,900 high school seniors, including a Norwalk resident, have been awarded college-sponsored National Merit Scholarships. Evan Waters, who attends the Center for Global Studies in Norwalk, won the National Merit Tufts University Scholarship, according to an announcement from the NMSC. According to the town website, students from Daniels Farm Elementary School were the first to enjoy the recently installed splash pad park. The CT Lottery furnishes winner information as public record. The Connecticut Lottery only publishes names of people who win $10,000 or more, which officials claim is quite common.
