These temperatures are often seen in the middle of summer but are well above average for this time of year. SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The National Weather Service in Sacramento has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for parts of Western Plumas County near Lassen Park and the West Slope of the Sierra Nevada. Cities include Chester, Quincy and Blue Canyon. The Advisory is for areas above 6,000 feet starting Friday at 5 p.m. and continuing through 11 a.m. Sunday. Total snow accumulation will be near 3-6" at the lower elevations and up to a foot over the highest peaks.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Weather conditions forecast for the Sacramento region will have a new cold storm Friday into early Sunday including rain, wind and snow. This is a colder storm that will drop snow down to 5,000 ft at times. There will be light rain at times but the bigger impact will be for snow. When The new storm should fill in from the south during the day Friday but impacts will not likely be felt until very late Friday and early Saturday morning.
