ARVIN, Calif. (KGET) — Two men are dead and two others are injured after reports of a gun battle in Arvin Saturday morning. The day broke in an Arvin neighborhood with officers combing the streets for bullet casings and other evidence after violence erupted near the intersection of Bautista Street and Soledad Drive. Police say shots rang out at 4:30 a.m. They found two men down.

Kern River Bike Patrol launched to keep bike trail safe

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The gears were turning at the beautiful Park at River Walk Saturday morning after the city launched the Kern River Bike Patrol and Park Rangers electric bike programs. A 10-person volunteer group, trained by the National Ski patrol, will ride the trail wearing all red in an effort to help anyone in need. The Park Rangers are going electric with four e-bikes after a manager secured a $24,000 grant from the San Joaquin Valley Air District.
