BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A storm off the coast of northern California brought much more rain than any of the forecasts expected in the Kern County area, providing for wet streets across the route for the start of the annual Bakersfield Marathon. This storm will bring moisture over the state Sunday and into Monday and is expected to taper off Tuesday. The probability of precipitation drops to 30% through 10 a.m., with only a 2% chance of rain from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. today.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — As Monday’s storm slowly moves east, Bakersfield got some drizzle and light rain this morning under stuck clouds against our south mountains. Expect drier conditions after 11 a.m. in the valley with clearing skies in the afternoon. The gusty winds continue, especially in the Kern County desert, until about 2 p.m. Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
