Junior quarterback Matt Ponatoski completed 13 of 18 passes for 431 yards and a school-record six touchdown passes to lead Moeller to the Division I state championship game, beating Centerville 49-10 in a state semifinal. Olentangy Liberty used a strong defense and rushing attack to defeat three-time defending Division I state champion St. Edward in a state semifinal. The Patriots (13-2) jumped out to a 21-0 lead on the way to a 21-7 win, and will face Moeller next Friday in the Division I title game. The Eagles finish the year at 9-6. The Division I championship will be played at 7:30 p.m. in Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, and can be seen on Spectrum News 1 and the Spectrum News App.

Three-time defending Division I state champion St. Edward took another step closer to a fourth, beating Mentor 13-7 in the Region 1 Final at Bedford. The Eagles (9-5) advance to play Olentangy Liberty in a state semifinal next week It was the first loss of the year for the Cardinals, who finish the season at 13-1. The is the eighth straight year either St. Edward or Mentor captured the Region 1 championship.
Moeller gets past rival St. Xavier in Region 4 Final

Moeller is the Region 4 champion for a fourth straight year, defeating fellow Greater Catholic League South rival St. Xavier 28-23. The Crusaders (13-1) will play Centerville next week in a Division I state semifinal. Moeller's season has ended in the state semis each of the previous three years to Springfield, another Greater Western Ohio Conference school. The Bombers conclude 2024 with a 10-4 mark.
