Thousands gathered in downtown Houston on Thursday for the city’s 75th annual Thanksgiving Day parade. The event on a chilly fall morning featured a variety of local organizations as well as some elaborately decorated floats. Visitors saw Mayor John Whitmire and other elected officials, local high school marching bands, team mascots for the Astros, Rockets and Texans and popular fictional characters such as Cinderella, Darth Vader and the Grinch. Members of Houston’s Haitian community say they feel like they have a target on their backs after negative comments were made about them at last week's Presidential debate. Richard Alexandre is a board member of Houston Haitians United. The group helps Haitian immigrants resettle in the United States. So far, the negative attacks in Houston have been done through social media but he fears that's only the start.

The first cold front of the year is expected to welcome Houstonians with temperatures in the low-to-mid 80’s by the end of next week, with a high of 78 degrees anticipated next Thursday.
