Jun 13 2025, 11:40 pmThe spotlight will be bright on Elias Pettersson when he arrives to training camp next season — assuming the Vancouver Canucks don’t trade him before then. This is the most important offseason of the 26-year-old’s career, as he looks to shed a reputation that he’s not willing to put in the necessary offseason work. The message appears to have gotten through, as the Canucks are reportedly pleased with how things are going.

Jun 13 2025, 2:25 amIt’s not often that Wayne Gretzky isn’t the biggest star at an NHL event. But that was the case Thursday night in Florida, as Taylor Swift made an unexpected appearance at the Stanley Cup Final. Swift and her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, showed up Amerant Bank Arena in time to see the Edmonton Oilers take on the Florida Panthers in Game 4. They reportedly arrived by helicopter and watched the game from a private suite.

Jun 12 2025, 11:52 pmSam Greene / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn ImagesThere’s an extra buzz in the building at the Stanley Cup Final, because Taylor Swift has made a surprise appearance. According to multiple reports, Swift and boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, are attending Thursday night’s Stanley Cup Final game between the Edmonton Oilers and Florida Panthers. The couple landed by helicopter near Amerant Arena in Sunrise, Florida, according to ESPN’s Greg Wyshynski.

Jun 12 2025, 8:22 pmNick Turchiaro/Imagn ImagesSo you’re telling us there’s a chance. NBA commissioner Adam Silver was quizzed about expansion during an interview on The Dan Patrick Show, and his response was interesting. Unlike the NHL, the NBA has resisted expansion in recent years. They haven’t added a new team since 2004, when Charlotte re-entered the league. Prior to that, the last expansion teams were the Toronto Raptors and Vancouver Grizzlies in 1995.

Jun 12 2025, 6:20 pmWe’re 19 days away from Elias Pettersson’s no-movement clause kicking in, but it doesn’t sound like the Vancouver Canucks are interested in trading him before July 1. The Canucks have been open to trading Pettersson in the past, with the Carolina Hurricanes seemingly the most serious suitor.Ā Canucks management now needs to decide if it’s time to cut bait with Pettersson or bank on him bouncing back. It sounds like they’re choosing the latter.
