    Ganatantrik Adhikar Surakha Sangathan (GASS), Odisha, strongly condemns the delay in opening the government-run Super Specialty hospital at Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Science and Research (VIMSAR) in Burla, Sambalpur district. Despite being completed six months ago, the hospital remains closed, depriving people of quality healthcare. The delay is attributed to the wait for the Union Home Minister’s inauguration, scheduled for November last year.

    My daughter is now a school guidance counselor (sort of like a school psychologist and educator merged into one helpful school role while running  programs about lying, stealing, bullying, dealing with death of a loved one, the value of cooperative behavior, shyness and other important topics). It suits her well since she always wanted to help hurt or maligned others, and did so since she was a young child or as when she was an older one in her senior year at high school.

Indian Muslims for Secular Democracy (IMSD) strongly condemns the assassination of the South African Imam Muhsin Hendricks, a man widely regarded as the world’s first openly gay Muslim imam. The imam, a religious reformer and an activist, was ambushed by two masked men in a pick-up truck while visiting the southern city of Gqeberha on Saturday.

    In another demonstration that the fight for LGBTQ rights in India goes far beyond marriage, a dispute in a Reliance Fresh supermarket in the posh South Kolkata neighbourhood of Jodhpur Park suddenly assumed a sinister character on 11 February. What started as an argument over a place in line became a mob assault outside the store. Members of Sappho for Equality who were initially involved or arrived to assist were verbally, physically, and sexually assaulted.
