A man impersonating law enforcement zip-tied a 50-year-old woman and stole around $1,000 from a business in the city’s Mayfair section, police said Monday. Around 2:10 p.m. Sunday, a man wearing a black tactical vest with the words “Security Enforcement Agent” entered the business on the 6400 block of Harbison Avenue and zip-tied the victim, police said.

Federal authorities are searching for an 18-year-old Moorestown High School student who allegedly used dangerous explosive materials to help fellow students with a science project, police said. Authorities detonated the materials at two locations, causing alarm and concern for nearby residents. The teen is not believed to have obtained the materials to commit any criminal acts, Moorestown Director of Police Patrick J. Reilly Jr. said in a phone interview.

Ocean City has launched a new real-time system, including a phone app, to direct visitors to available parking spots at municipal parking lots in the popular Jersey Shore destination. Using sensors in the parking lots, the system will direct motorists through the Ocean City Parking Spot Finder mobile app, which is available on iOS and Android, and through digital messaging signs along Ninth Street and at the parking lots in the Boardwalk district, the city said.
