INDEPENDENCE — Friday, July 5, 2024: The Independence Mustangs baseball team battled back from a 4-0 deficit to tie it up but gave up a late run in the top of the seventh to fall 5-4 to the Xavier Saints. Despite the loss, the Mustangs put up a strong fight, even outhitting the Saints 12-8. Senior Chase Kiler was a standout player, delivering an excellent performance with a perfect 4 for 4, all singles, and scoring a run.

GILBERTVILLE — Saturday, June 29, 2024: After rain halted play on Friday, the J-Hawks returned to Don Bosco on Saturday and played two competitive games coming away with two hard-fought wins. In the first game, the J-Hawks faced off against the Vikettes, a team with a 7-26 record. Despite their less-than-stellar standing, the Vikettes managed to put up a strong challenge for the J-Hawks. In a closely contested game, both teams tallied fourteen hits each.
