Two men are in hospital after being gunned down in Ontario early this morning (May 11). Police in Hamilton said they were called to the area of Upper James Street and Jameston Avenue just before 2 a.m.“Upon arrival, police located two adult male victims suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims were transported to a nearby hospital and treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries,” according to reports. Investigators from the Shooting Response Team are now on the case.

Chief Electoral Officer of Canada Stéphane Perrault said there will be a judicial recount of the votes in the electoral district of Milton East–Halton Hills South (Ontario). “Following a validation of the results in the electoral district of Milton East–Halton Hills South, the difference between the two leading candidates was 29 votes.

The day that residents of an Ontario community long feared has finally arrived. Today (May 1), work crews began taking down trees along a section of a Burlington golf course to make way for a housing project. When complete, the development will see 90 townhomes on the property as well as a small apartment building.

It’s cherry blossom time in Burlington. Beautiful pink and white blooms are now on full display at two locations in the city, but time is of the essence when it come to viewing. After weeks of waiting, the cherry trees at Spencer Smith Park finally popped open today (April 30). As well, the Royal Botanical Gardens (RBG) reports that the trees located at its site are in prime viewing mode. “Peak bloom!” the RBG declares on its website.

Since the beginning of this year, scammers posing as bank investigators have swindled residents of Halton Region out of a combined $522,000. Halton Regional Police say that so far in 2025, they have received 43 reports from victims who have lost their money by falling for the scam, occurring in the area, which can be Burlington, Oakville, Milton and Halton Hills.
