Whenever Seattle soul crooner Allen Stone happens to find himself in San Francisco at the beginning of a week, he makes time for Motown on Monday. Typically held at Madrone Art Bar near Alamo Square, this is where you can go to hear a DJ spin some classic R&B. Stone, who will be in town Sunday and Monday, performing at the Great American Music Hall, remembers the first time he was taken to MOM, as it’s known. That makes the last time the five members played in the Bay Area all the way back in 2018.

SAN FRANCISCO — Australian Kylie Minogue has been a pop star internationally since the late ’80s and has occasionally made inroads in North America, from the Carole-King-penned early career hit “The Loco-Motion” to 2001’s “Can’t Get You Out of My Head.” Yet the interest in her music here has never matched that of other parts of the world. Her previous tour in the U.S., as well as a Bay Area concert, was all the way back in 2011. What changed?
