CORK CAPTAIN BRIAN Hurley returns from injury and is on the bench as the Rebels face Kerry at Páirc Úi Chaoimh on Saturday at 4,45pm (GAA+). Sean Brady is also included among the subs for the SFC Group 2 Round 2 clash. He missed last weekend’s loss to Meath in Navan after being red-carded against Kerry last month in the Munster semi-final, a game which Cork lost after extra-time. Cork’s starting team is the same that took the field in Navan last Saturday, the Royals winning out 1-13 to 0-12. 1.

NIALL ANNETT IS leaving Bath to take up a coaching role with Ulster, his home province. The 34-year-old hooker began his career with Ulster in 2011 before moving to Worcester Warriors in 2014. Annett, a former captain of the Ireland U20 team, joined Bath from Worcester in 2022 and has made 23 appearances this season. He came off the bench in the final quarter this month when Bath beat Lyon in the Champions Cup final.

CORK MANAGER PAT Ryan has made four changes to his side to play Waterford on Sunday at Páirc Úi Chaoimh (4pm, live on RTE 2). Out go Niall O’Leary and Declan Dalton, who suffered knocks during Cork’s 16-point defeat to Limerick last Sunday. The injured Rob Downey misses out, with Shane Barrett taking over as captain. Ethan Twomey drops to the bench. In comes Cormac O’Brien at wing-back and Brian Roche in midfield. Ger Millerick starts at corner-back, with Seamus Harnedy at half-forward.

LEINSTER FACE Scarlets in Dublin while Munster travel to Durban to take on the Sharks in the URC quarter-finals on the last weekend of the month. Munster and Leinster will not meet again until the final, should they progress. The results from Round 18 ensured that the four home teams were ranked: Leinster (1), Bulls (2) Sharks (3) and Glasgow Warriors (4).
