Changes are coming to Needham Public Schools after three employees were charged with child porn possession in recent months. In March, middle school teacher Michael Ciccolella was arrested and accused of viewing and distributing child porn. Then, a month later, Needham High School band director Spencer Parrish was charged with possession of child porn. Earlier this week, Needham Extended Day employee Christopher Carlisle was arrested on similar charges.

A man was struck and killed by an MBTA Commuter Rail train in Brockton Tuesday, police confirmed. The incident occurred while the man was “trespassing on the right of way” at the Brockton station, MBTA Transit Police Superintendent Richard Sullivan said in a statement. Transit Police and the Plymouth County District Attorney’s office are leading an investigation. Foul play is not suspected, Sullivan said. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police in Palmer are trying to identify the driver of a Tesla Cybertruck who allegedly used pepper spray on a person that gave them a “thumbs down” gesture earlier this week. The person showed the “thumbs down” to the Cybertruck driver as the driver was exiting the Massachusetts Turnpike just after 11 a.m. Monday, according to the Palmer Police Department. The Cybertruck turned around and entered a Shell gas station on Thorndike Street, police said.

Church Street, the iconic pedestrian marketplace in the heart of Burlington, Vermont will be temporarily renamed this summer to “Canada Street/Rue Canada” in a ceremonial effort meant to bolster connections with America’s northern neighbor. The Burlington City Council unanimously approved a resolution Monday codifying the change. Councilor Becca Brown McKnight sported a shirt with a maple leaf on it and handed out miniature Canadian flags to her colleagues before she introduced the measure.

Authorities in Massachusetts arrested a man Tuesday and charged him with killing his father more than 20 years ago. Douglas Herlihy, 39, was arrested in Saugus and is being held without bail. He was charged with second-degree murder for the killing of Paul Herlihy in August 2003, New Hampshire Attorney General John Formella’s office announced. Douglas Herlihy is expected to be arraigned in Essex County Superior Court and then extradited to New Hampshire.
