Limburg (energate) - Energieversorgung Limburg (EVL) and Stadtwerke from neighbouring Diez are about to merge. The final decision is to be taken by the Limburg city council on 26 May, with the city magistrate recommending that the council approve the plans. "This is an important and necessary step in order to be able to assert ourselves as a local energy supplier in a changing environment," explained Limburg Mayor Marius Hahn (SPD - Social Democratic Party) in a statement from the city.

Hamburg (energate) - Former Stadtwerke managing director Enno Steffens is switching to the consultancy side. Since April, the 51-year-old has joined the consulting firm Birn+Partners as an Executive Consultant - specialising in the energy and public sector. In this role, Steffens will support municipal utilities, network operators and energy service providers "in filling key positions and in strategic issues relating to management, culture and structure", the company announced.

Hamburg (energate) - Enno Steffens, the former managing director of various utility companies, is switching to the consultancy side. Since April, Mr Steffens, aged 51, has been strengthening the consulting firm Birn+Partners as Executive Consultant, focusing on the energy and public sectors. In this role, he will advise municipal utilities, grid operators, and energy service providers on filling key positions and strategic leadership, cultural, and structural issues, the company announced.
