Named for the California town she began her nursing career and met her husband, Petaluma Gardens’ flourishing fields are the product of a career change, research, and hard work. “I don’t really remember making a conscious decision that I was going to do this. I just know the next thing, I had a John Deere tractor and the land back behind you, I was plowing up,” Fernandez said.

DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) - Tornado watches have been issued across all of South Alabama until 6 p.m. Sunday. This is ahead of a line of showers and thunderstorms slowly moving eastward as it extends from North Georgia into Southwest Alabama. While isolated severe thunderstorms are possible this afternoon, the most favorable conditions for strong wind gusts, hail and tornadoes will likely be centered over Central Alabama and North Georgia.

SYNOPSIS - Our weekend will begin very warm and dry as the showers and thunderstorms that have been battering areas north and west start pushing towards Alabama. Some will arrive Sunday afternoon with a few storms packing the potential for gusty winds, hail, and isolated tornadoes into the night. Showers and storms will likely weaken but become more widespread into Monday morning before they are replaced by much cooler air. TONIGHT– Partly cloudy, patchy fog possible. Low near 67°.

SYNOPSIS - Another very warm, potentially record-breaking afternoon is on tap before highs dip slightly into the weekend. Saturday will be dry while Sunday afternoon hosts a few PM showers and potentially strong thunderstorms. Rain will likely become more widespread overnight and bleed into Monday morning before cooler air settles in for the new week. TONIGHT– Mostly clear, patchy fog late. Low near 67°. Winds SSE at 5-10 mph. TOMORROW – Partly cloudy. High near 87°. Winds S at 10-15 mph.
