SIU started its first Missouri Valley Conference winning streak of the season behind the strength of a dominant first half and three players with at least 15 points. Ali Dibba paced the Salukis with 22, while Kennard Davis Jr. and Jarrett Hensley both scored 18.

While Nagy roamed the sidelines with no shoes to raise awareness for Samaritan’s Feet, a tradition he brought with him to SIU, the Dawgs beat Missouri State 88-78 to snap their five-game losing streak and notched their first conference win since Feb. 25, 2024.

Brittany Harry, a longtime junior college coach who hails from Champaign, IL, has been named Saluki Volleyball’s new head coachHarry, who has been a head coach for 16 seasons, holds a career 310-178 record, good for a 63% career win percentage. “I feel really grateful and blessed to have the opportunity to lead this program,” Harry said. Harry is a proven winner, and a highly decorated one at that.

The Salukis, who were playing without Kennard Davis Jr., were demolished by Illinois State 85-54 despite winning the turnover battle. Points were tough to come by for the Salukis, who shot 36% on the game, and only 20% from beyond the arc. Davion Sykes’ season-high 11 were the most by a Saluki, followed by Sheridan Sharp’s 10.

The board members voted unanimously to increase the salary of SIUC Associate Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management Wendell Williams, while SIUC Chancellor Austin Lane and SIU System President Daniel Mahony received bonuses.
