ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – Rochester police are investigating a shooting that led to the victim being dropped off at Rochester General Hospital. Police said the victim, a 37-year-old man, was dropped off by a private vehicle around 5:20 p.m. at RGH. His injuries are not life-threatening. Investigators learned the shooting took place in the area of Palm Street and Dewey Avenue. No suspects are in custody. Rochester police are looking into the circumstances behind this shooting.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — New details have been revealed about Rochester’s upcoming Juneteenth festivities!The annual Juneteenth festival will be held at MLK Memorial Park on Saturday, June 14, 2025. The festival will celebrate Black culture through live music, food, and more activities. They are expecting over 4,000 people will be in attendance for this year’s festival. The Juneteenth Parade will kick off the parade. It will go from Main Street to East Avenue, then Chestnut Street up to MLK Park.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Authorities in Batavia are asking residents to avoid the area of Batavia Town Plaza due to an ongoing fire. Tons of fire trucks can be seen surrounding a building on Route 5 as hoses are being sprayed on top of the building. It is not clear what caused the fire or if there are any injuries to civilians or firefighters. The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office said it will provide more updates as they come out. ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Authorities in Batavia are asking residents to avoid the area of Batavia Town Plaza due to an ongoing fire. According to the Town of Batavia Fire Department Chief Chris Strathearn, fire crews responded to the scene shortly after 11 a.m. on Friday for reports of a fire in the back room of Hodgins Engraving on Route 5. The fire spread quickly, causing 20 other agencies to respond.

The restaurant, located in the Mall at Greece Ridge, was unable to come to terms on a new deal for another location, according to the owners. The owners also mentioned that the door is always open for the restaurant to return to the mall. Jim’s at the Mall was a family-run business that has operated at the Mall at Greece Ridge for years. The owners said the restaurant will be sorely missed.
