The study, titled “Assessing the cold weather impact on battery electric transit buses,” says that the buses struggle in Ithaca’s hilly terrain and are unreliable, with reduced range, in cold weather. According to the researchers, the batteries on the electric buses consumed 48% more energy in cold weather and nearly 27% more in a broader temperature range.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Deputies need help finding a suspect who damaged someone’s vehicle and left a threatening note. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office released footage taken from last Wednesday at 10:20 p.m. The video shows a hooded, masked individual smashing the windshield of a truck parked in a driveway in Perinton. A day later, deputies said the suspect returned and put a note in the mailbox reading “You will take down that bull[…] flag, or you will replace more glass.
