Schroeder’s team returns as state champions, where they were escorted by Webster’s fire department and police officers. Down by a touchdown in the 1st, Emma Rascoe connects with Nina Amico for a touchdown, tying it up at 7. Half-winding down, Schroeder goes up by 6 with Tappan Zee pulling ahead by 1 with a diving catch for the touchdown.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Scott Metcalfe, a former Rochester Amerks player and Calder Cup champion, has passed away. He was 58 years old. The Amerks confirmed Metcalfe’s passing, which happened Friday morning. They expressed their sympathies in a statement. Metcalfe, a native of Toronto, played in Rochester for nine seasons, from 1987 through 1991 and 1993 through 1998. He was a three-time 20-goal scorer.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The Rochester Police Department is continuing its crackdown on illegal ATV and dirt bike activities. According to RPD, they conducted an ATV and dirt bike detail on Wednesday and towed 16 illegal dirt ikes and two illegal ATVs. They were also able to recover a stolen motorcycle. As a result of this detail, 88 traffic citations were issued along with seven arrests, three of which were warrant arrests.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — RIT sent a letter to faculty and staff as it works to navigate financial issues. In the letter, RIT’s President David Munson Jr. tells staff that the university is facing price increases as it renews contracts, increasing expenses by over $15 million. He also says they are facing challenges from the federal government, especially when it comes to international student enrollment. They are expecting a decrease of 200 or more international students.
