(South Dakota Searchlight) – U.S. immigration officials conducted a “worksite enforcement action” that resulted in eight arrests Tuesday in Madison, three days after their boss, Kristi Noem, was subjected to a protest in the same South Dakota city. At least one of the two targeted businesses, Manitou Equipment, was awarded financial support from the state while Noem was governor.

FARGO (KFGO) – Fargo firefighters responded to over 14,000 service calls last year. Fire Chief Steve Dirksen says of the 14,222 calls, 239 were for fires, 151 for hazardous material incidents, 85 technical rescue incidents, and 15 water rescue emergencies. One civilian died, and two civilians and five firefighters were hurt in fires. In 2024, 13 new firefighters completed the Metro Fire Academy hosted by the Fargo, West Fargo, and Moorhead Fire Departments.

ALEXANDRIA, Minn. (KFGO/KVRR) — Crews responded to two house fires near Alexandria Sunday. Around 5:45 a.m. in Lake Mary Township south of I-94, crews responded to a fire that spread from a porch into a house and caused severe damage. The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office says several people had evacuated the house by the time they arrived. It is believed the cause of the fire was accidental. Around 7 p.m., crews responded to a house fire west of Alexandria.

JAMESTOWN, N.D. (KFGO) – A Bismarck man is facing multiple charges after a pursuit and crash in Jamestown Saturday morning. The Highway Patrol says troopers responded to a report of a reckless driver on eastbound I-94 in Kidder County. A trooper found the car in Stutsman County and tried to make a traffic stop, but the driver fled at speeds over 100 miles per hour.

WAHPETON, N.D. (KFGO) – The Richland County Sheriff’s Office says an ATV crash south of Wahpeton sent two juveniles to the hospital Saturday afternoon. The two juveniles who were hurt and one other were in the ATV when the driver tried to make a turn and lost control. The ATV went into the ditch and rolled. None of the juveniles were wearing seatbelts. A release from the sheriff’s office doesn’t say which two were hurt or who was driving. The third juvenile did not seek medical attention.
