The sold-out “Boys From Oklahoma” concert series in Stillwater next month is billed as a celebration of Red Dirt music and a reunion for Cross Canadian Ragweed after 15 years apart. But, it got a little more special this week thanks to an announcement from the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame. Four of the featured acts that weekend — Cross Canadian Ragweed, Jason Boland and The Stragglers, The Great Divide and Stoney LaRue — will be inducted into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame.

The NBA All-Star Weekend starts Friday in San Francisco. The Oklahoma City Thunder will be well-represented this weekend, with coach Mark Daigneault on the sidelines and two Thunder players — Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jalen Williams — in Sunday night’s NBA All-Star Game. Gilgeous-Alexander, who is making his third All-Star Game appearance, is one of the favorites for league MVP again this season, leading the NBA in scoring at 32 points per game.

Longtime Tulsa radio host Brent Douglas, who was well-known for his prank calls, died on Saturday at the age of 69. The cause of death was not disclosed. Under the pseudonym Roy D. Mercer, Douglas lured unsuspecting people on the other end of the phone line into his world, where his thick southern drawl and wild, made-up grievances often came with crass comments and a looming threat to fight. Tulsa-born rock musician Annie Clark, known professionally as St. Vincent, won three Grammy Awards on Sunday. Her song “Broken Man” was named Best Rock Song, besting songs by Pearl Jam, Green Day, The Black Keys and IDLES. Another St. Vincent song — “Flea” — beat out recordings by Fontaines D.C., Cage The Elephant, Kim Gordon and Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, winning in the category of the Best Alternative Music Performance.
