    A Las Vegas man convicted on federal gun charges is again in police custody for allegedly violating the terms of his probation. Agents with the U.S. Marshals Service on June 2 arrested 55-year-old Arturo H. Ruiz at a home in the 500 block of Chavez Street after federal authorities declared him a fugitive because he failed to report a change of address to a probation officer and admitted to using narcotics, according to an arrest warrant filed in U.S. District Court.

    Two 18-year-old men were killed last week in a single-vehicle crash near the intersection of Seventh Street and Grand Avenue. The crash claimed the lives of Orlando Romero and Marquez Espinoza when a vehicle driven by Romero crashed near Lincoln Park just before midnight on June 10, according to Chief of Police Caleb Marquez. Police have not released a cause of the crash and said it is still under investigation.

    Two people were killed Tuesday night in a single-vehicle crash near the intersection of Seventh Street and Grand Avenue, according to police. The Las Vegas Fire Department and other emergency medical personnel responded to the crash near Lincoln Park just before midnight and administered life-saving measures, according to a City of Las Vegas news release. Despite their efforts, the two people inside the vehicle died from injuries sustained during the crash.

    A San Miguel County Sheriff’s deputy who has previously faced criminal charges is now accused of beating a man and taking his gun during a Memorial Day weekend gathering. Prosecutors charged 23-year-old Justin D. Padilla with two felony counts after a man alleged Padilla and his brother took him to the ground, punched him and stole his gun at a campsite. New Mexico State Police officers arrived at a Storrie Lake State Park campground just after 1:30 a.m. on May 2.
