HOT SPRINGS, Va. (WFXR) - One by one, motorcycles descended upon the Omni Homestead Resort in Hot Springs, Virginia. The running of the 29th Anniversary of the Kyle Petty Charis Ride Across America event is an emotional experience every year. "We ride these motorcycles so we can send kids to Victory Junction. And that's what it's all about," says event founder Kyle Petty. Over 180 riders travelled from Michigan to Virginia. The Trip alone took seven days, riding through seven states.

LEXINGTON, Va. (WFXR) - Over at Alston Watt Parker Field the number one seed Washington and Lee women's lacrosse team claimed their 15th straight Old Dominion Athletic Conference championship over Shenandoah 14-6. The game was tied early in the first quarter, but after the Generals were awarded the penalty first year attack Lara Baki scored off of the free position goal to put Washington and Lee up one. Baki would go onto score five goals in Sunday's contest.

Tied at 12 in the closing minutes, the Generals found magic one last time as junior Elliot Cohen fired home the game-winner to send the home crowd into a frenzy and secure W&L's first conference title since 2023.
