LYNCHBURG, Va. ( WFXR) - Schools across the region dominated in day two of the VHSL Class 3 & 4 state track meet in Lynchburg. In the class 4 girls mile, heat two showcase three young talented student-athletes of Blacksburg who all place in the top 12. Both freshmen Lola Olsen and Ruthie Delapp took second and third in this event. Staying with class 4 but in the 800 meter, Blacksburg's Reilly Thomas secured gold for the Bruins.

ROANOKE, Va. ( WFXR) - The 2025 B'nai B'rith Athletic and Achievement Awards honored two standout student-athletes from the Roanoke Valley: Sam Dowdy of Patrick Henry High School and Addison Brecker of Roanoke Catholic High School. These prestigious awards recognize excellence in athletics, academics, and citizenship among high school seniors in the region. This years Artie Levin Personal Life Award went to another Patrick Henry student athlete, Grace Williams.

ROANOKE, Va. ( WFXR) - The Cave Spring Knights softball team delivered a commanding performance when taking down the Region 3D defending state champions, Christiansburg, 12-0. The regional quarterfinal game saw Cave Spring set the tone both defensively and offensively from the very first pitch. The Knights' bats came alive early, racking up runs inning after inning while keeping Christiansburg's hitters in check with strong pitching.

( WFXR) - The North Cross boys lacrosse team rosed to the top once again on Tuesday, defeating the Covenant Eagles 13-8 to win the state championship - their fourth title in the last five seasons. The Raiders took control early in the first quarter and never looked back, closing out the half with a 9-3 lead. "We came out flying. I think that's a really important part of our game is, you know, keep our foot on the gas," said junior attack Ethan Grigas.
