The Dallas Mavericks are locking down Daniel Gafford. Gafford and the Mavericks intend to sign a three-year, $60 million contract extension in the coming days, according to ESPN's Shams Charania. The deal will keep Gafford in Dallas through the 2028-29 campaign. The first NBA Finals Game 7 in nearly a decade did solid numbers on Sunday night. About 16.35 million people tuned in to watch the Thunder beat the Indiana Pacers on Sunday night, which gave the franchise its first NBA title since relocating to Oklahoma City, ESPN announced on Monday. The game peaked at about 19.3 million viewers, too. That made it the most-watched NBA Finals game in six years. AdvertisementIn total, the series averaged more than 10.2 million viewers per game.

Prosecutors in the Dominican Republic have asked that suspended Tampa Bay Rays player Wander Franco be sentenced to five years in prison amid allegations that he had a relationship with a minor, according to The Associated Press. Franco is facing sexual abuse charges in his home country after allegations that he was involved with a 14-year-old.
