UCLA and Tennessee have pulled off a rare quarterback trade in college football. Joey Aguilar, who transferred into UCLA just a few months ago, is now on his way out. He struck a deal to sign with Tennessee on Monday afternoon, where he'll replace quarterback Nico Iamaleava — who just left the program for UCLA after a chaotic NIL holdout in Knoxville — according to ESPN's Chris Low.

The Los Angeles Lakers did not look good in their first postseason game this past weekend. At all. The Minnesota Timberwolves cruised to a 117-95 rout at Crypto.com Arena on Saturday night in Game 1 of their opening round playoff series, and did so without much issue whatsoever. The issue, head coach JJ Redick said on Monday, was relatively simple. "We have to do a lot of things better, and it starts with playing harder and being more organized," he said, via The Athletic's Jovan Buha.

San Diego Padres designated hitter Luis Arráez was carted off the field and taken to a local hospital on Sunday night after a scary collision at first base during their matchup with the Houston Astros. Arráez ran directly into Astros second baseman Mauricio Dubón while trying to make it to first after a sacrifice bunt. Arráez and Dubón collided hard and both immediately crumpled to the ground.

Finalists for the NBA's seven major awards have officially been announced, and the Most Valuable Player contest is officially on. Both Oklahoma City Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Denver Nuggets big man Nikola Jokić were named finalists for the top award on Sunday after a thrilling season-long battle. Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo was the third finalist.

He went more than 1,000 days between wins, but Justin Thomas is finally back on top. Thomas sank a deep birdie putt on the first playoff hole to beat Andrew Novak and win the RBC Heritage on Sunday afternoon. He fired a bogey-free 68, and then erupted into a massive celebration on the green after what was his first win since the 2022 PGA Championship. With that win came a $3.6 million check, too.
