Enjoy some Shakespeare in the Park as the St. Louis Shakespeare Festival puts on their annual production in Forest Park. As You Like It, directed by Nancy Bell, comes to Shakespeare Glen from May 29–June 23. Then, from July 30–August 25, six performers will take a 90-minute version of The Tempest to dozens of parks throughout Missouri and Illinois. Various locations.

Trish Sieckmann has been working in a kitchen since she was 15 years old. She went to culinary school at Baltimore International College and opened her own bakery, TS Sweets, in 2018. Today, she manages over 30 cooks in a shared kitchen space every weekday at CoMo Cooks Shared Kitchen, sharing her years worth of knowledge to small business owners. Cooks can book time in the space on Business Loop 70 and have access to specialized equipment and resources.

The voting period for the Missouri Students Association presidential election will open on March 5 at noon and will close at 11:59 p.m. on March 7. All undergraduate MU students are eligible to cast their ballots online through this link. Two slates will be on the ballot this year — All in 4 Mizzou and Revive the Roar.

Candace Hulsizer has spent most of her life with her nose in a book and drawn toward stories that resonate with her identity as a Black woman. The lack of representation she noticed in literature led Hulsizer to where she is today: the proud owner of Black Tea Bookshop. Before opening the seventh Black-owned bookstore in Missouri, Hulsizer spent over a decade as a second grade teacher at Fairview Elementary, where she was the only Black teacher during her tenure.

Twice a month, Chris Sullivan starts his day by waking up at 5 a.m. in his Columbia home and heading over to Como Cooks Shared Kitchen with his youngest daughter, Autumn. Both will work for about five hours making one batch of Sully Sauce, and Sullivan’s day doesn’t end there. These long mornings are contrasted with his typical schedule, where he drives about two hours to St. Louis before clocking into his night shift as an officer for the North County Police Cooperative.
