    Two men who aided terrorists in the deadly Dusit D2 hotel attack six years ago have been sentenced to 30 years in prison each. Hussein Mohamed Abdille Ali and Mohamed Abdi Ali were handed the sentence by High Court Judge Diana Kavedza, who found them guilty of facilitating the 2019 attack, which left 21 people dead. The court concluded that the duo provided support to the attackers by sending them money and helping them to acquire identification documents.

    The Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) on Friday presented Mr James Mukhwana before a Nairobi court seeking to hold the police officer for 21 days as they conduct investigations into the death of teacher Albert Ojwang. The authority informed senior principal magistrate Robinson Ondieki that Mr Mukhwana was at the cell sentry on the night when Ojwang’ was found unconscious inside the cell, at Central Police Station.

    A fresh legal battle has erupted over the estate of the late President Daniel arap Moi’s son, Jonathan Kipkemboi Moi, with a demand that all 19 individuals listed as beneficiaries undergo DNA testing. Appearing before High Court Judge Eric Ogola, Jonathan’s first wife, Sylvia, and their son, Clint Kiprono, urged the court to set aside an order issued in August 2023 that recognised the 19 individuals as rightful beneficiaries of Jonathan’s estate.

    The High Court has lifted an order by Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale suspending all existing licenses and import clearances relating to the manufacture, importation, distribution or sale of nicotine and related products. Justice Bahati Mwamuye on Thursday suspended the directive made by Mr Duale on May 31, pending the determination of the case filed by Susan Awino.
