    Corporations that have previously donated money for Pride events to take place have now pulled back their almighty dollars thanks to the diversity, equity and inclusion stigma that is attached to companies that support DEI initiatives. There is no law that these companies can’t support our Pride events, they are just choosing to take away their support. But Pride events have nothing to do with DEI, they have to do with our LGBTQ community coming together and celebrating our identity.

If you are discriminated against, it is essential to know where to go.

    Anytime I hear that families have disowned their loved ones for being queer, usually their children, I cannot understand how they can be so hateful to their own. I recently watched a documentary on Luther Vandross, who was supposedly gay and living his life in the closet. Disclaimer: I do not know Luther and have never heard him say he was gay. But close friends of Vandross have previously said that he was.

    Here I am sitting, trying to process the outcome of the election. How can I accept it? How can any of us accept this of the country we thought we lived in? Do I like it? No. Do I accept it? Yes. Do I worry about what is to come? Of course. Am I angry that so many people didn’t care about our rights and what could happen to them when he takes the Oval Office? Abso-fucking-lutely. We did everything we could to win this election, but it just wasn’t our time.
