Chaos hit Royal Ascot when winning horse Lazzat almost drop-kicked a groundsworker in the head after getting loose and going mad on Sunday morning. The Wathnan-owned sprinter just bagged more than $1 million for winning the Group 1 Platinum Jubilee Stakes over six furlongs. The Sun reports. But when jockey James Doyle was about to be interviewed by ITV, the 9-2 winner appeared to get spooked by a cloth being raised in front of him.

WILLIE MULLINS has pulled Lossiemouth out of her mouthwatering Punchestown Champion Hurdle clash against Constitution Hill and State Man. Rich Ricci's incredible grey mare was around 3-1 to serve it up over two miles to the two big boys over in Ireland. But Closutton boss Mullins has pulled the plug on her run after failing to include her in the five-day confirmation stage. Constitution Hill, who has been schooling over fences after falling on his past two runs, was included.

SO, Willie Mullins did it. And now for history, trying to do what Vincent O’Brien never did - which is be based in Ireland and land the British Jumps Trainers’ Championship three times in a row. Since Saturday many have questioned why the jockeys’ championship is decided on wins, and the trainers’ championship on prize money. Some believe it’s wrong that Mullins can just pop in and take the big prizes, but, over the course of the season, win fewer races than in this case his arch rival Dan Skelton.

WILLIE MULLINS is to finally take the wraps off a 'stunning' £180,000 future superstar - who's already fancied for next year's Cheltenham Festival. Ryanair boss Michael O'Leary moved quickly to snap up the hugely promising Leader Des Bordes last June. His half-brother Kopek Des Bordes is one of Mullins' top horses and won this year's Supreme Novices' Hurdle. Kopek Des Bordes is unbeaten in four and will return at slim odds of 4-9 on the same day his sibling makes his debut.
