Wagga Wagga's Monica Thomas is starting her post-school gap year on a real high. The Kildare Catholic College graduate is one of 50 from across New South Wales to have their HSC visual arts major work displayed at the Art Gallery of NSW, as part of the annual ARTEXPRESS showcase. Monica spoke to the ABC's Sally Bryant about her artwork, called Inscribed Sojourn, which was inspired by the life of her mother.

Women of the Riverina is a performance that features stories written by women from the region, about women from the region, from the distant past to now. After a successful performance in Sydney, the show moves to Wagga Wagga this week, with the hopes to take it on tour in 2025. There may be a looming social media ban for teenagers, but 14-year-old Ariba Omar was recently given the keys to the NSW Department of Education's Instagram account. The Kooringal High School student was chosen as one of four students from across the state to participate in the student reporter program, and report from the Game Changers Challenge in Sydney.
