Expect some “really benign weather” this week across San Diego County, but also unusually cool temperatures heading into next weekend, forecasters say. Weak onshore flow will prevail all week, according to the National Weather Service. That is expected to help the marine layer deepen, with low clouds each night and morning at the coast early this week, plus in the valleys later in the week.

Weak Santa Ana winds will set in Saturday, bringing breezes, drying air and “the start to our significant warming trend,” National Weather Service meteorologist Alex Tardy said in a Friday afternoon briefing.

I have never in my 40 years ridden a skateboard. But @Maura__Fox's lovely, ebullient obituary for local legend Patti McGee — a fearless kid who went pro in an era when few women did & was known for her "rolling handstand" — almost made me feel like I had. https://t.co/10xAxTjSiI
