The updated ordinance, sponsored by the entire council, strengthens the city's human relations commission and broadens protections against discrimination in employment, housing, public accommodations, education and health care.

WILSON BORO., Pa. - A vehicle that was reported stolen was involved in a police pursuit early Monday morning in Northampton County, police say. Officials say that early Monday morning, Wilson Borough Police Department took a stolen vehicle report. Shortly after the report was taken, the vehicle was involved in a pursuit, which resulted in the occupants abandoning the vehicle and fleeing on foot, according to police.

PHILLIPSBURG, N.J. -- Police say a New Jersey man is dead, following an early-morning shooting on Summit Avenue in Warren County, New Jersey. Neighbor Tara Handlin says she saw police and crime scene tape up at around 5 a.m. on Monday. "I looked up the block, and then I saw everything going on," she said. The Warren County Prosecutor's Office says police responded to a 911 call at 4:30 a.m. Monday. The call reported that someone was trying to break into their home.
