A conceptual framework based on the Family Stress Model underpins this study, positing that economic hardship can indirectly affect children’s well-being through increased parental stress [14]. This model suggests that financial stress leads to psychological distress in parents, which may reduce their ability to provide consistent care, consequently impacting children’s mental health.
