Paesano (Image: Newsquest) For the pizza-loving paesans of Glasgow’s Southside, the wait for this new restaurant has been agonisingly slow. From the moment rumours surrounding the future of the former Di Maggio’s on Pollokshaws Road first began to swirl, right up until striking blue signage confirmed beyond doubt that a ‘sequel’ was on the way, their thoughts have been consumed with little else. It was not a drill. Paesano was coming to Shawlands.

Climbing a gentle incline from sleepy, tree-lined streets of the town, suddenly there she is in all her glory, with pristine wrought iron detailing practically glowing in the spring sunshine.
