COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — Recently, Central Ohio has been slammed with hailstorms. Viewers submitted pictures and videos to ChimeIn from Newark to Chillicothe. Even our crews had to seek shelter as hail piled up in Licking County on Monday. Most of the videos showed quarter-size or smaller hail, but some areas received reports of ping-pong size hail or larger. Hail is formed when water droplets are swept up into an updraft and freeze in the colder air aloft.

U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins recently got a tour of the Schmitmeyer farm in Darke County, where massive, self-driving equipment called 360 RAIN is being used. "What an inspiring time we've had here today at this beautiful farm to see the regenerative farming that is happening here and what they're doing with everything produced," she said.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — The clean-up continues for parts of Central Ohio as Tuesday's storms left a path of damage behind. Wind gusts of 50-60 mph caused trees and power lines to come down from Cincinnati to Cambridge. One in particular that caused some headaches to a homeowner was in Lancaster. The strong winds caused a tree to fall on the home. The roof and gutter were damaged by the force and weight of the tree. There were no injuries as the homeowner was not home at the time the tree fell.
