In 2007, the eight-seeded Golden State Warriors defeated the 67-win Dallas Mavericks and 2006-07 MVP Dirk Nowitzki in six games in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs. The Denver Nuggets were the first eighth seed to beat a first seed after they defeated the Seattle Supersonics 3-2 in the Western Conference first round in 1994.
