An avid runner will attempt to break the record for the fastest person to run the London Marathon dressed as a traffic cone. Michael Wiggins, 47, from Streatham, south-west London, will run his 18th London Marathon since 1999 and his first in a traffic cone costume as he attempts to break the Guinness World Record (GWR).

Skygazers have gathered across the UK to catch a glimpse of the partial solar eclipse. The phenomenon occurs when the Moon passes between the Sun and the Earth. The three are not completely aligned, so only part of the Sun is obscured. The eclipse peaked in London at around 11am on Saturday and was visible in parts of the country from between around 10am and noon.

Barclays has apologised after its customers said they have been unable to access their bank accounts online or through the mobile app. There were nearly 1,000 reports of an outage on Saturday, according to outage tracker Downdetector, leaving Barclays customers unable to pay bills or transfer money. The bank has said customers are able to withdraw cash but apologised for the outage and said it is "working hard to fix the issue".

The infamous Squid Games guards, who wear bright pink boiler suits and a black mesh face mask with white symbols of various shapes, demanded that Whitehall "decide if you wish to host again" before presenting him with an X or O button.
