    When I think about growing up in Nashua, New Hampshire, I think about how lucky I was to have such iconic restaurants like the Green Ridge Turkey Farm, The Modern and Roland's Family Restaurant in that same city.     One of the things that I loved about growing up in NH was the food. I didn't know it at the time, but many of the dishes were specific to the 603. Foods like Lake Trout, (we love to fish) Boiled Dinners because of the big Irish population and Poutine for the number of Canadians in NH too, were common dinner choices in my childhood NH home. Hunting season for bears is big in New Hampshire. The fish and game department, at one point, had a lottery to get a license to hunt bears.

    I am not alone when I say that I can eat Mexican food every day. What's there not to like about it? Spicy meat, cheese, chips and tortillas should be their own food group that we are required to eat every day. New Hampshire has so many amazing Mexican restaurants like La Carreta's, Margarita's and Cinco de Mayo. I'll tell you why these three are my favorites. La Carreta's is one of my favorite restaurants in downtown Portsmouth. There are other locations in other parts of the state as well.
