Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council have warned motorists that a number of fake parking tickets have been placed in cars on the area and as a result people should not attempt to pay a parking fine via a QR code. They say the fraudulent fixed charge notice tickets have an incorrect phone number and website and a QR code that launches to a fraudulent website.

An exercise to assess Ireland's ability to deal with large forest fires is taking place in the Wicklow mountains today. It comes as the 2025 fire season here is expected to be longer and more extensive than ever before. The exercise led by European experts, is the first of its kind in Ireland. Members of the public in Wicklow have been asked not to be alarmed by the presence of numerous emergency response personell and vehicles and the use of a helicopter during the drill.

Dublin City Council has said that illegal dumping and a significant increase in "scavenging" at clothing banks have left bring banks in the capital in "disarray". The council said they are looking at paying companies to recycle textiles rather than receiving payments for the clothes they collect because the rise in fast fashion has made the previous model unsustainable.

Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs Simon Harris will update the Cabinet on the situation in Ukraine and outline how he intends to ensure €50 million in non-lethal military support can be given to Ukraine despite a Hungarian veto at EU level. The Cabinet is due to hold a meeting at Government Buildings during which Mr Harris will update his ministerial colleagues on what is termed Ireland's ongoing support for Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression.

The Taoiseach has said that no active farmer will have to pay the residential zoned land tax, while he is Taoiseach. Speaking to reporters in Dublin, Simon Harris was asked about reports that the tax may be deferred again in October's budget and that there are potential plans to draft a new scheme ensuring farmers are not targeted. The tax is meant to focus on people who are in possession of large land banks for lengthy amounts of time, and which are zoned for potential residential development.

In an interview with the Journal.ie, a number of men who were allegedly sexually assaulted by Dr Shine while children and teenagers said they want a public inquiry into the cases to be launched.
