AbstractIn this paper we describe the rise of global operators in the scaled quaternionic case, an important extension from the quaternionic case to the family of scaled hypercomplex numbers \(\mathbb {H}_t,\, t\in \mathbb {R}^*\), of which the \(\mathbb {H}_{-1}=\mathbb {H}\) is the space of quaternions and \(\mathbb {H}_{1}\) is the space of split quaternions. We also describe the scaled Fueter-type variables associated to these operators, developing a coherent theory in this field.

Transfer of conserved quantities between two remote regions is generally assumed to be a rather trivial process: a flux of particles carrying the conserved quantities propagates from one region to another. However, we demonstrate a flow of angular momentum from one region to another across a region of space in which there is a vanishingly small probability of any particles (or fields) being present. This shows that the usual view of how conservation laws work needs to be revisited.

Adult zebra finches purchased from Magnolia Bird Farm (Anaheim, CA) were maintained in indoor aviaries (2.1 m by 1.5 m by 2.1 m) at Chapman University for five weeks before the start of the experiments. Birds were housed in mixed sex groups of 18 animals and provided with food (German millet mixed with canary seed), cuttlebones and water ad libitum. No nesting cups or nesting materials were provided. The light/darkness schedule was 13 L:11D, with lights on at 06:30 in the morning.

1 INTRODUCTION The global demand for fish and fish products has increased from 141.5 million metric tons in 2005 to 184.1 million metric tons in 2022 (Food and Agriculture Organization [FAO], 2020, 2022; Rasmussen & Morrissey, 2009). The inability to meet this demand and fluctuations in supply and trade have led to fraud and adulterations (Silva et al., 2021).
