For most people who grew up in North Carolina and have played a little golf, the name "Curtis Strange" will ring a bell. Originally from Virginia, Strange became a three-time All-American golfer at Wake Forest in the 1970s. He then went on to an extremely successful pro career, winning the U.S. Open twice and earning membership into the World Golf Hall of Fame. Now Strange is a part-time North Carolina resident, living five months a year in Morehead City.

It sounds like Bryce Young badly wanted the Carolina Panthers to draft Arizona wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan. Me? I'm not nearly so sure that was the right decision. McMillan said in a video call with local media Thursday night that Young - a player he has known and admired since they attended rival high schools in California - had campaigned for him to be picked at No. 8 overall with both Panthers coach Dave Canales and general manager Dan Morgan.

The Charlotte Hornets are a bad team. That's not news. They had the NBA's third-worst record this past season. They have an active streak of nine straight seasons without a playoff appearance - the longest such streak in the NBA. What is a little surprising to me, though, is what a national poll featuring players from all 30 NBA teams just showed: NBA players consider the Hornets to be the league's very worst organization.
