PITTSBURGH — A toasty Wednesday is on tap with high temperatures approaching 90 degrees for the first time this year. We’ll see plenty of sunshine, along with a touch more humidity throughout the day. Some smoke from the Canadian wildfires will still be around in the lower atmosphere and will keep air quality levels at “moderate” levels, but overall impacts will be low. The overnight warming trend continues with lows struggling just to drop into the mid-60s Thursday morning.

PITTSBURGH — Smoke from Canadian wildfires will continue to give us a hazy sky over the next couple of days. No air quality alert has been issued; however, those who are unusually sensitive to respiratory ailments should limit overexertion outside this afternoon and evening. The air quality is considered “moderate,” but not bad enough for an alert. Northwest flow well above the surface is pulling smoke down into our area.

Umbrellas will be back in fashion later today, especially in areas south of Pittsburgh. Clouds will thicken up throughout the morning ahead of the showers that will arrive from the south this afternoon. Many areas from Pittsburgh south will see rain showers during the afternoon with the rain being steadier toward Waynesburg, Uniontown, and Morgantown. Showers will evolve into a steady rain early Wednesday and continue much of the day.
