The Beverly and Salem students were among 48 students honored statewide at the MassCPAs' Connect 2025 event earlier this month. O’Gorman, CPA, Memorial Scholarship.

SWAMPSCOTT, MA — A Mablehead mother and great aunt from Swampscott are taking part in this year's Jimmy Fund Walk as part of "Team JJ" in honor of a 3-year-old boy undergoing cancer treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Beth Shribman is a longtime participant in the annual Jimmy Fund Walk, but this year the effort hits close to home as she joins Samantha Weiss, JJ's mother, on Team JJ after the boy was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma last year.

SALEM, MA — A US Navy Seaman from Salem who served for eight years before being killed during a Japanese attack off the coast of Australia during World War II will be honored with the naming of a veterans square on the corner of English and Cousins Streets on Memorial Day. The public is invited to the ceremony on May 26 at 11 a.m. in honor of US Navy Seaman 1st Class Anthony Frank Pydynkowski. He served for six years years in the United States Marine Corps before enlisting in the US Navy in 1940.

SALEM, MA — A man was found suffering from what were described as non-life-threatening injuries after police responded to reports of "shots fired" in the area of 12 Pope Street on Friday night. Salem police said a gun was recovered and that they encountered the injured man during their investigation. Police did not reveal the nature of the person's injuries or what crimes were being investigated.
