The vote came after the interviews of two finalists and a decision to forgo the choice to go with an interim superintendent in the wake of the retirement of Sue Charochak and the historic teachers' strike this past fall.

DANVERS, MA — Yard waste will be picked up curbside on the regular trash/recycling collection day next week in Danvers. Normal collection will be delayed by one day due to the observance of Patriots Day on Monday. All items must be curbside by 7 a.m. Yard Waste may be in a paper yard waste bag or an open barrel labeled YARD WASTE (stickers are available at Town Hall). Bags and barrels must not weigh more than 50 pounds.

Those who waited for the "gold star" ID — which will soon be required to enter certain government buildings and travel domestically — recently logged on for an appointment and were greeted with wait times of up to two months or more amid the ID crunch.
