    Shares in beleaguered Wood Group were lifted yesterday as the Scottish energy services giant received a cut-price takeover approach from Middle East player Sidara. The board of Aberdeen-based Wood has signalled to Sidara that it would be “minded to recommend” to shareholders a “non-binding conditional proposal” worth 35p per share for the entire issued share capital of the company, valuing it at around £241 million.
