MESA, Ariz, (KTXL) – Athletics general manager David Forst held a press conference on Monday morning at the A’s spring training facility in Mesa to announce a contract extension for manager Mark Kotsay that will run through the 2028 season. The contract extension also includes a team option for the 2029 season. Kotsay, 49, is entering his fourth season with the A’s with an overall record of 179-307.

(KTXL) – In the spirit of the holiday season, Kings point guard De’Aaron Fox spent Friday evening partnering with the Raising Cane’s off of El Camino Ave. to donate 100 bicycles and helmets to kids with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Sacramento. Fox spoke with FOX40 about the season of giving and his love for the Christmas holiday. Friday’s event was the fifth straight year of bike donations throughout the country.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. (KTXL) – What a difference a week can make. After struggling to kick extra points in last week’s dramatic, nail-biting win over the Rocklin Thunder in the Sac-Joaquin Div. II Section Championship game, Grant Pacers sophomore kicker Jose Romero drilled a clutch 24-yard field goal with 5.6 seconds left in the game, to narrowly defeat the Saint Francis Lancers on Friday night, and launch his Pacers to the CIF Div. II-AA State title game.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KTXL) – After a heated, but much-needed 120-111 win over the Rockets on Tuesday night, the Kings, who were already eliminated from the NBA Cup, found out their two opponents against two other teams failing to advance to the quarterfinals. In total, 22 teams did not advance in the quarterfinals of the NBA Cup and were assigned two games on Tuesday night that will count towards the regular season schedule. Those games will be played on Dec. 12 or 13, as well as Dec. 15 or 16.
