    SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — Five years ago, the COVID-19 pandemic hit the world, ruining prom plans for the Sioux City Community School District’s (SCCSD) class of 2020. Now, they’re getting a second chance. The Sioux City Public Schools Foundation announced Thursday that it will be holding a “Rewrite the Night” event for SCCSD high school students who had their prom canceled by the coronavirus. It will be held on Saturday, June 28, at the Anthem inside the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

    SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — A pair of community cleanup events will be taking place in Sioux City this April. According to a release, the city will be hosting two community cleanup events. The first is the Litter Dash and the second is the semi-annual Re-Event. The Litter Dash Community Cleanup will take place on April 18, this year starting at noon at the Seaboard Triumph Foods Expo Center. Siouxlanders are encouraged to put together teams to participate in the cleanup event.

    SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — Big Brothers Big Sisters of Siouxland is inviting the community to come and say “aloha” as they participate in the nonprofit’s annual “Bowl for Kids’ Sake” fundraiser. This year’s theme is “Luau on the Lanes.” Teams are encouraged to bring whatever Hawaiian gear they’ve got and bowl some strikes for a good cause. The event takes place on March 21 and 22 at Plaza Bowl in Sioux City.

    ZZ Top will be bringing “The Elevation Tour” to Sioux City this August. One of the most recognizable names in rock, ZZ Top will be bringing hits such as “La Grange,” “Sharp Dressed Man,” and “Legs,” to the Battery Park stage. You can see these beards of legend at the Hard Rock on Aug. 2, 2025. Tickets will go on sale on March 21 and can be purchased online or in-person at the Rock Shop. This show is open to all ages.
