I'd heard good things about the Barossa Valley, but I didn't expect to be as wowed as I was by Australia's most iconic wine region. I appreciate wine, but I'm not a huge drinker, so I didn't know if the area would have as big of an impact on me as others. A manhunt is underway after a woman was attacked with a machete during a carjacking at a petrol station in Melbourne's south-east about 6.35pm yesterday. The 29-year-old was approached by three males - at least one of whom had a machete - at a service station in Dandenong as she was returning to her car after paying for petrol. One of males demanded her keys and tried to snatch them from her, but police say she put up a fight and was struck on the arm by the machete in the scuffle.

Homicide squad detectives are investigating after a man was found dead at a home in Melbourne's north in the early hours of the morning. Police went to the home on Mitchell Street in Glenroy about 4.40am to conduct a welfare check and found the body of a man, believed to be aged in his 20s. The exact circumstances surrounding the man's death are yet to be determined.
