The Islamabad police on Tuesday said they had detained five people who were involved in vandalising a restaurant in the capital’s E-11 sector. The incident is another in a string of multiple recent attacks on outlets of international fast-food chains across the country, particularly Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC), as a form of protest and boycott against Israeli atrocities in Gaza and the companies supporting it.

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Monday arrested a suspect from Bani Gala on the outskirts of Islamabad for his “anti-state campaign” on social media over the recent attack on the Jaffar Express train in Balochistan. The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon when the train, travelling from Quetta to Peshawar and carrying 440 passengers, was ambushed by the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) terrorists.

The government removed Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Director General Ahmed Ishaq Jahangir from his position on Wednesday amid ongoing action against other officials of the watchdog. According to a notification by the Cabinet Secretariat, Jahangir, a BS-21 officer of the Interior Division was transferred and posted as an Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the Establishment Division “with immediate effect and until further orders”.

On Nov 13, Imran issued a “final call” for nationwide protests on Nov 24, demanding the restoration of the PTI’s electoral mandate, the release of detained party members, and the reversal of the 26th Amendment, which he said had strengthened a “dictatorial regime”.
