Years ago, pharmacy organizations in Canada were forced to split into regulatory and advocacy groups. This made sense because of potential conflicts of interest in protecting the public versus advocating for pharmacists. Lately, we have heard some buzz about whether advocacy organizations are able to balance advocacy for pharmacists against advocacy for pharmacy owners. Advocacy for the pharmacy profession has been a growing topic of debate in Canada over recent decades.
