A fundraiser has been started to help the Cainey family, whose home was wrecked in the blastA family home was completely destroyed in a devastating gas explosion in Yate. The force of the blast flattened one home in Lancaster Road and left another uninhabitable, while residents say up to five homes may need to be pulled down due to severe structural damage. The cause of the blast on April 29 was put down to a gas explosion, though unrelated to the main gas line.

Concerns are growing for a missing man last seen more than a week ago in Bristol. Benjamin, 37, was last seen in the Brislington area at around 2.30pm on Saturday, May 3 and has not been seen since. Avon and Somerset Police say Benjamin has links to Bristol and London. He is described as white, around 6ft 3ins tall and of large build. He has has a shaved head, short beard and a tattooed left arm.

Searches are being carried out to find a vulnerable teenage girl in Bristol. Tia, 17, has been reported missing after she was last seen on Thursday, May 8. She was last seen in Bristol city centre at around 3.30pm. Avon and Somerset Police say she is known to visit areas across the city and the city centre in particular. The 17-year-old is described as white, around 5ft 4in and of stocky build. She has blonde hair.
