    House Speaker Melissa Minor-Brown and Sen. Nicole Poore will host a June 5 community town hall to discuss recent Delaware City Refinery incidents. The two New Castle Democrats said on June 3 in a joint statement that they are planning legislation to strengthen penalties and ensure support for communities impacted by industrial pollution. The Delaware City Refinery started emitting more-than-permitted sulfur dioxide, a toxic gas, after a mechanical failure May 26.

Always carry the equipment needed to get your vehicle un-stuck. If you can't get your vehicle un-stuck, you'll have to pay a tow company or risk being towed by police. Cars frequently get stuck trying to drive on the Delaware beaches, especially in the warm months.

    Delaware State Police have identified the motorcyclist killed in a car crash in Cheswold May 30 as 22-year-old Jordan Cuffee. Around 7:50 p.m. that night, Cuffee was traveling south in the left lane of North Dupont Highway, approaching Rose Bowl Road, police said. At the same time, a Toyota Sienna was traveling east on Rose Bowl Road, stopped at a stop sign at North Dupont Highway.
